When Nintendo first launched Big Block, it was available individually for $9.99, which will likely be the launch price of DLC 2. There isn’t a price yet, although there is a bundle that includes the Big Block DLC for AU$15. The listing looks very early, and has a placeholder release date of Dec.

However, the new DLC will apparently allow for local multiplayer in Tetris 99. In the Big Block DLC released earlier this year, Tetris 99 got two single-player modes with CPU matches and a Marathon leaderboard mode. This expansion - currently just called DLC 2 - references a new offline multiplayer mode. On Nintendo’s Australian website, there’s a listing for a new offline expansion for the Tetris game.

Tetris initially debuted in 1984 on a Soviet Union-era PC known as the Electronika 60 and has since been ported and published to and by a long list of platforms and publishers, not the least of which being Nintendo. This basically means that right now, 2 player coop with keyboard and single controller is possible. There are several games that support 1 player in VR and additional players on flatscreen using the same PC using only 1. Which means multiple players on one PC, so in that regard 1 instance shouldn’t be an issue. Online (tetris live) needs to be disabled though and theres bug that GameLord mentioned above that only first controller is actually useable. The game claims to support local multiplayer: with all-new co-op and competitive online and local multiplayer modes.
